With over fifty years in the waste industry, we guarantee the most consistent and highly professional service in the area.Our service provides you with twice a week trash pickup and once a week recycling pickup. We allow you as the customer the option to provide your own cans or we can provide a 96 gallon toter for an additional fee.We kindly ask that you place all trash and recycling curbside the night before. This eliminates the possibility of you being missed.
In 1983 he and his wife Rita founded Shifflett’s Trash Service in Stafford County. Shifflett’s later expanded into Spotsylvania and King Georges Counties. Shifflett’s was known throughout the area for its unparalleled personalized and reliable service.
In 2011 after almost thirty years of serving the people of Stafford County and the surrounding areas Mr. Shifflett and his wife sold the company to a large out of state company. The reason being that large companies have a habit of coming into an area and offer to buy you out and if you don’t sell they put people on the street door to door offering your customers 3 to 6 months free service to change service. Seeing the hand writing on the wall so to speak they begrudgingly sold the company.
Almost immediately previous customers and HOA’s began to call the Shifflett’s and ask them to please consider going back in business as they were not satisfied with the new service. One key reason for the dissatisfaction with the new service was the fact the new company reduced house trash pickup to once a week. Mr. Shifflett has always been of the opinion that residential trash should be collected twice a week.After all who wants garbage sitting beside their home for a whole week in July and August in this climate.The only problem was that when Shifflett’s Trash Service sold they signed a five year non-compete clause. This forbade the Shifflett’s from going back in business until October 1, 2016.
Guess what?
