Plastic Revolutions is a full service plastic recycler located in a 300,000 square foot facility in scenic Reidsville, North Carolina. We recycle all forms and grades of plastic scrap, specializing in high molecular weight plastics, such as drums, IBC totes, sheet and other dunnage materials. We also process post consumer plastic bottles from used detergent, milk jugs and other consumer products. We provide tolling and consulting services. Plastic Revolutions is managed by an eco-friendly staff of professionals with many years experience in Recycling. We were actually recycling before it was cool to do so.Plastic Revolutions was featured on The Worlds Greatest tv program, applauding thier "Green" methods.

Plastic Revolutions purchases or otherwise obtains plastic scrap or obsolete inventory from any source. We receive and process over 36 million pounds of plastic scrap annually that would otherwise go to landfills. We receive plastic scrap from almost every type business in the country including municipalities, distribution centers, plastic manufacturing companies and container reconditioners. We have the trained workforce and the equipment to take dirty waste plastic and granulate, wash, dry, pelletize and package in lined boxes to sell to manufacturers to make new products such as drainage pipe, cable jacketing, dumpster lids, drums and many other products. We also set up recycling programs for our customers to process their scrap plastic for reuse back into the original product. This is what we refer to as toll processing.

History

Plastic Revolutions was founded in 1991, as a company that designed, and built processing equipment for the rapidly growing plastic recycling industry. We continue to work with the machinery today, but our primary focus is on grinding, washing, and pelletizing plastic. We felt that the profit potential was greater for processors, rather than for machinery manufacturers. Our company has invested significantly over the years in long-term capital improvements to be more vertically integrated to optimize our capabilities, and future business opportunities.

  • In 2002 we hired an outside sales and purchasing professional to help us procure recyclable plastics, in the northeast, and to help us increase the sales of our plastic "Safety Stops".
  • In 2003 hired additional employees for the maintenance of all the equipment.
  • In 2004 we added another automated shredder and a state-of-the-art grinder.
  • In 2005 we added a new dust collection system, a wash tank, a high speed plastic washer, and we upgraded our emergency fire system.
  • In 2006 we added a new plastic pelletizing line to accommodate a growing demand for a very specialized polyethylene, which was not readily available on the open market.
  • In 2007 we remodeled and moved into our new 300,000 square foot facility, built a new washline, and sold our old 175,000 square foot facility. Also, the new machinery currently allows us to recycle 100% of our wastewater so we have no discharge to the city. This has cut our production costs, and helps us do our part to conserve water with the ever- increasing drought in North Carolina. We also installed a Fairbanks truck scale so that we could weigh tractor trailers on site.
  • In 2008 we began running twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, which necessitated adding additional employees. We now employ 55 people.
  • In 2009 we added a brand new Web site.
  • 2010 Added solar panels and high efficiency heating and lighting to our plant further reducing our carbon footprint.
  • 2011 Added a second wash Line increasing our washing capacity to over 80 million pounds per year. We also added a second pelletizing line which doubled our capacity and enhanced our quality with a state of the art vacuum venting. 2011 Plastic Revolutions was featured on the ION Network Worlds Greatest TV program for its Green initiatives.
  • 2012 Added a new large granulator capable of grinding large drums without prior shredding or crushing.
