Since 1994, the Northwood Transfer Station has accepted recyclables and source separated organic waste from households, businesses and municipalities in the Oshawa-Whitby region and surrounding areas.
We help both commercial and public drive-in customers to make recycling easier, cost effective and efficient.
With a commitment to sustainability and improving the environment, we empower our customers to minimize the volume of waste going to Ontario landfills by facilitating the transfer of recyclable materials to other specialized facilities and its recovery and transformation into new products.
At Northwood, we accept materials that typically make up more than a third of a municipality’s solid waste stream by weight. When not disposed of properly, these wastes can create environmental hazards and endanger public safety, health, and well-being.
