In 1976, Pat began his own business, Car Crusher. Then in 1986 Pat started Kalamazoo Metal Recycling which continues to be a family business today. The family-owned and operated business shreds 120,000 tons of metal per year, the majority of which is reused in new car, appliance and consumer goods manufacturing.  It’s a full-circle process that breathes new life into scraps that would otherwise be deposited in landfills.
