Iron Valley Metals will purchase almost anything which is made from metal. There is no reason to put metal materials into your normal household trash where it may eventually end up in a landfill. And instead of having to pay dump fees, you will be paid to recycle these metals products. Our employees will help you unload and sort your scrap metal materials. Scrap Metal Guidelines
Metals are first categorized as either Ferrous, or Non-Ferrous. All ferrous metals contain iron and are magnetic. Non-ferrous metals do not contain iron, and are non-magnetic. Non-ferrous metals have a greater scrap value than ferrous metals.

Scrap metals are either “clean” or “dirty”. This does not refer to dirt or grease. “Clean” materials do not have other types of materials attached to them. “Dirty” refers to items with one or more other types of materials attached to them. Refrigerators and appliances are a good example of “dirty” materials because they are made from many types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and also plastic and sometimes glass. Clean recyclable metals have a greater scrap value because somewhere down the line to where all materials can be reused, the dirty materials must be separated by each material to be processed.
