Our Mission

Our mission is to provide our customers with seamless solutions for maximizing return and minimizing the risks associated with data security and improper handling of end of life electronics.

Scope of Services Of The Environmental Management System

Diversified Recycling has developed and implemented a policy and objectives which take into account legal and other requirements to which Diversified Recycling subscribes, and information about significant environmental, health and safety, data security, and social accountability aspects. This scope covers environmental processes implemented and maintained at all Diversified Recycling locations. Specifically, the 2700 Hazelhurst Ave. Orlando, Florida 32804 location as well as the 2760 Pacific Drive, Suite A, Norcross, GA 30071 location. It applies to those environmental and stewardship aspects that Diversified Recycling identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence.”

Electronics Recycling Services

The Scope of services provided by Diversified Recycling includes the recovery, refurbishing, processing, reusing, recycling, de-manufacturing, and remarketing of computers, laptops, servers, networking equipment and various end of life electronics from generators across the United States. These products may also include “HEW” Hazardous Electronic Waste and “PCM” Problematic Components and Materials under this scope. These products are referred to as “Additional Products” under this scope

The scope shall include the processing services directly to generators for Hazardous Electronic Waste (HEW) and Problematic Components & Material (PCM) and “Additional Products”, with differential rates for varying amounts and types of products. Processing includes both the highest value reuse and possible reselling of usable equipment, as well as the dismantling of the products for parts and raw materials. In addition to the quoted rates below for the processing of electronic products, separate charges are quoted for transportation of electronics by the vendors to their facilities. Generators must calculate both processing and transportation charges to determine the actual full price that will be charged for the handling of their electronics. Generators may also at their own expense deliver their electronics directly to our facility as identified below. In all cases, generators must follow the vendors’ specifications in packaging material for transport.

Diversified Recycling shall provide other services to include : “turnkey” public recycling collection events, providing onsite storage trailers, providing training, and providing transport packaging materials. Furthermore, Diversified provides revenue sharing options for various products that have reusable or re-sellable value. Generators are encouraged to review those parts of the scope/agreement and discuss with the sales representative to determine how they may apply to their particular situation.

Each generator is encouraged to carefully evaluate its specific needs, its proximity to Diversified’ s facility, the nature of its surplus inventory, and any other factor that will affect the overall price of service it may request or receive. Diversified is available to discuss the specifics of any generator’s situation, if more information is needed. Diversified provides data destruction services available at the generators request. This function is highly recommended to protect generators against the unauthorized use or sharing of data left on electronic devices. These services can be negotiated between the generator and the sales representative.

Recycling: The Process

  • Schedule and Pick Up: This is the first step in our process where a pick up date and time is scheduled and picked up with one of our 26′ box trucks or our 53′ trailer. Diversified Recycling will load your material and transport your assets to our facility dock.

  • Receiving: All of your assets are received, weighted and logged into our system. It is at this point that we label every pallet and establish a unique identifier that we use to track your assets throughout our entire process.

  • Product Sort: Every piece is weighed individually and logged into our system. This is where any and all asset tags are removed. We sort units by product type. All CRT monitors are routed to the CRT monitor processing area, all laptops, tablets, PDA Devices are processed through the Laptop Testing and Refurbishment Department, all computers and servers get processed through the Computer Testing and Refurbishment Department, all LCD Monitors, LCD Televisions get processed through our LCD Testing and Refurbishment Department, all printers and peripherals get processed, tested and prepared for resale and/or de-manufacturing. Segmenting these units by type creates efficiencies in our process which allow us to lower our total cost to you.

  • Tech Sort Line: There is a minimum requirement we have established for each product type and is based on the level of value recovery potential. For example, a 15-inch CRT monitor that is over 3 years old will fail and go directly to the End-Of-Life process. This is also true of a PC with a processor speed under 2.8 GHZ. But faster processors and newer/larger monitors would pass and go to the next step. This line changes as technology changes and is driven by the marketplace for pre-owned IT assets.

  • Configuration / Data Wipe: This is where we document the specific configuration of the asset (ex. Dell Optiplex PC, Pentium 4 processor, 1G RAM, CD/DVD) and data-wipe the hard drive using our DOD 5220.22-M compliant process. This process uses a certified drive-erasure program that is initiated by communicating with the hard drive through the BIOS. The drive is overwritten twice using ones and zeros, followed by a third pass using random characters.
