Founded in 1915 as a single location, family owned and operated scrap processing facility in Dallas, Texas, Commercial Metals Company Recycling has grown into an industry leader. With operations in over 60 locations globally we have the capacity to process and ship more than 4.0 million tons of ferrous and non ferrous scrap annually. We buy, process, sell and manage scrap in collaboration with our partners regardless of their size throughout the United States and around the globe.
Our success has been built by committing ourselves to the highest ethical, legal, environmental, safety and customer service standards. This will remain our commitment to all our business partners in each and every transaction and interaction we undertake.

Commercial Metals Company is a global, low-cost metals recycling, manufacturing, fabricating and trading enterprise.
With corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas, CMC operates more than 200 local recycling centers; steel mills; fabrication facilities; marketing and distribution offices; construction-related product stores; heat treating facilities; and other related operations - in more than 25 countries. You’ll find our steel in American football stadiums, German airports, Saudi Arabian infrastructure, Singaporean high-rise buildings and in other well-known structures around the world.
Our vertical integration model revolutionized the way the steel industry operates today. Originating in 1915 with a single recycling location, we have continuously moved into higher-value downstream segments of the ferrous and non-ferrous metal lifecycle.

CMC was built on recycled metal. Our history dates back to a single location in Dallas, Texas, established in 1915. Over a century, CMC has grown to become one of the world’s largest metal recyclers, with facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. We have the capacity to process and ship more than four million tons of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals annually.
We operate more than 60 locations globally - buying, processing, selling and managing recycled metals in collaboration with partners large and small. Recycling customers include: steel mills; aluminum refineries and mills; copper and brass mills; special steel producers; high temperature alloy manufacturers and foundries; and recycling customers throughout our local communities.

CMC’s state-of-the-art Electric Arc Furnace steel mills produce high-quality steel products at five mills in the United States and one mill in Poland. We are the second largest long products producer in Poland and the third largest in the U.S. Our steel is utilized in numerous applications including infrastructure, construction, agriculture, machinery, service centers and fabrication businesses.
To meet global demand, CMC’s six steel mills in North America and Europe have a combined annual capacity of almost five million tons. Our steel strengthens roads, buildings, bridges, machinery and more. By producing steel from recycled metal in our electric arc furnaces, we consume far fewer resources than blast furnace steelmakers. Using recycled metal allows us to lower CO2 emissions by 58%.
CMC pioneered the latest innovation in steelmaking technology with the commissioning of our Mesa, Arizona micro mill. Developed and constructed by CMC, it is the first technology of this type to be successfully operated in the United States. This innovative continuous-continuous process melts, casts and rolls steel from a single uninterrupted strand, producing higher yields and lower energy costs than the traditional minimill process.
