Arwood Waste was formed in 1978 by the Arwood family. The company was started in an effort to clean up and reuse scrap metal. A firm foundation of collecting, reusing and recycling glass, scrap metal and wood has led to 30 years of success in the waste disposal and sanitation industry. Their consistent concern for the environment, forward thinking and innovation, has put AW on a path to become a nationwide waste management and portable sanitation leader.

Arwood Waste’s first major success occurred in 1984 when they landed their first large customer to haul construction waste for a major residential construction company in Jacksonville, Florida. What set AW apart from others in the industry was their extra concern for quality and service. A completed residential clean up job has always involved leaving the site better than when they arrived. In 1988, the family purchased their first roll off garbage truck and continued expanding through residential and commercial waste management services. In keeping with a strong belief in reusable waste, many of AW’s advertising signs were made with repurposed wood and paint.
