About Yard

Al's Metal Recycling is a locally owned and operated family business. We pride ourselves on providing you with quick & exceptional service, at a clean facility. When you are here, you're part of the family! Our family started in the salvage business in 2004, turning what was once an eye sore into a state of the art auto salvage facility.  As the years progressed, Ken Sr. began to take an interest in the scrap metal industry.  This seemed to go hand-in-hand with the auto salvage business so he began acquiring additional property and taking the steps towards adding the company to the family.  This process would prove to take several years, finally with all of the red tape navigated through, Al's Metal Recycling was ready to open on July 1, 2013.  As time progressed we came to the realization that scrap metal was our primary interest and due to many factors including new legislation and economic down turns, the salvage industry was no longer our future.  As of January 1, 2014, our family made the difficult decision to disolve the salvage side of our company.  While this was not an easy decision we are very excited for the future we see in the scrap metal industry.  We are a hard working close family, and look forward to taking this new adventure with all of you.  Please stop by and see Ken Sr., Kenny, Amber and their team today!

Making you more money on your insulated copper...

Copper has many different catagories, all of them paying differently. By seperating your copper into catagories, you will end up with more cash in your hand! While others may throw all insulated wire into a "low grade" mixture and pay bottom dollar, Al's Metal Recycling will take the time to seperate and educate our customers on the different grades, which can pay up to 75% per pound more than low grade pricing.
Insulated copper is classified by a few different factors, most importantly is the size of the copper wire and the amount of insulation around the wire. We have prepared some photos to give examples of the different grades you may see. If you are still unsure which catagory yours fall in, please feel free to stop by and we will be happy to help you determine what you have!

More Non-Ferrous Metals & Specialty Commodities...

  • A non-ferrous metal is any metal, including alloys, that does not contain iron in appreciable amounts. A magnet will not stick to non-ferrous metals.
  • Other "specialty commodities" like compressors/sealed units, electric motors & lighting ballasts are a mixture of ferrous & non-ferrous metals, these items are more valuable than average ferrous metals.
  • Ferrous is an adjective used to indicate the presence of iron.  If a magnet sticks to metal, it is a ferrous metal which would inlude auto bodies, appliances, steel & iron for example.

Yesterday was the first time I went there, I will be coming back every time I have metal to sell. The yard is clean, employees are polite and helpful. And the most important item I got about double the money as at a different location. The other yard I thought was cheating me, the load I brought into Al's was about the same as what I took into the other yard, My gross was heavier and tare was lighter at Al's, it was in line with what I thought I had on board. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY AL'S IS THE ONLY PLACE I NOW GO TO
