SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly price trends of scrap aluminium across worldwide markets for the past week (9th December, 2022 to 15th December, 2022) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The prices witnessed downward trend.
Aluminum Transformers recorded biggest decline in prices over the week, edging down from $0.23 per Lb to $0.22 per Lb. The prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Breakage 50% Recovery too recorded notable decline, falling by 3.45% and 2.94% respectively.

Meantime, Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe recorded no change in prices over the week.
Aluminum Transformers prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering decline from $0.23 per Lb to $0.22 per Lb. A notable weekly decline by 3.45% and 2.94% was seen in Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Breakage 50% Recovery prices.
The scrap aluminium categories that recorded nominal decline in prices included 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and MLC Clips.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained unchanged on Index.

The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were Aluminum Transformers, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Breakage 50% Recovery.
The Aluminum Transformers prices ended the week at $0.21 per Lb, down from the previous week price of $0.22 per Lb. Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe from $0.28 per Lb to $0.27 per Lb. The prices of Breakage 50% Recovery closed the week at $0.32 per Lb.
The aluminium scrap metal prices in the region remained weak, with prices of most categories recording week-on-week decline.
The scrap category to dip the most was Aluminum Transformers, whose prices recorded fall from $0.24 per Lb to $0.23 per Lb. It was followed by Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Breakage 50% Recovery, which recorded price declines by 3.33% and 2.86% respectively.
The prices of 5052 Scrap, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and MLC Clips ended the week with minor downward changes, over the week.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were stagnant over the week.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped the most during the previous week.
Old Cast recorded a dip in price by CNY 150 per MT, from CNY 16,900 per MT during the start of the week to end the week at $16,750 per MT.

Old Sheet too reported a similar change in prices over the week, as is evident from the below chart.
All other scrap, including Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Ingots, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Zorba 90% NF continued to report decline on Index.
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices edged lower from INR 206,000 per ton during the start of the week to INR 203,000 per ton on 15th December, 2022. A similar decline by INR 3,000 per ton was recorded in Aluminum ingots prices over the week.

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) maintained the previous week price levels during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
Meantime, the closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,430.00 per tonne as on 15th December, 2022. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract surged higher from $2,379.50 a day before to $2,396.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 483,850 tonnes on 15th December, 2022, as compared with 489,300 a day before.
