EUCLID (Scrap Monster): Pratt Industries has officially opened its $44 million recycled-content corrugated paper mill in Lewisburg, Ohio. The new facility sprawls over 35,000 square feet and is being built adjacent to the company’s box plant in Lewisburg.

According to reports, the mill employs latest water reclamation technology which could reduce the discharge to local sewer system to zero. It also has most modern equipment including 110-inch paper machine from German BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH. The recycled paper used at this facility is estimated to save 10,000 trees per day, claimed the company.

The company also announced that work is in progress for a $260-million recycled paper mill in Valparaiso, Indiana. The opening of the mill is scheduled to be held towards end of next year.

Pratt Industries is America’s 5th largest corrugated packaging company and the world’s largest, privately-held 100% recycled paper and packaging company. Pratt’s supply chain continues through a series of sheet plants, full-line corrugated box factories and display facilities strategically placed throughout the United States as well as Mexico, offering a wide range of creative packaging solutions.
