SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The groundbreaking ceremony of Saica Group’s new corrugated packaging plant in Hamilton, Ohio was held yesterday. This marks the company’s entry into the U.S. market. The 350,000 square-foot manufacturing facility will be built at an investment of $72 million.
The groundbreaking ceremony had limited attendees due to Covid-19 protocol restrictions. Those who were present in the ceremony included several regional government officials. The ceremony also witnessed participation of others through video conferencing.

The project is being supported by various state and local government incentives. The Tax Credit Authority has already approved an 8-year job-creation tax credit towards building the facility in Hamilton. The project is also supported by JobsOhio grants. In addition, the project will receive a job creation tax credit and property tax abatement by the city of Hamilton.
Ramón Alejandro, President, Sacia Group stated that the event marks the start of ambitious expansion plans for the U.S. market. He appreciated the support received by the company from its U.S. partners. Meantime, J.P. Nauseef, CEO, JobsOhio said that the project is a great fit for the region. Further, he expressed the hope that it would create enormous opportunities in Hamilton and beyond.
