SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Kemira announced significant addition to its production capacity in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The investments in South Korea and China are part of the company’s strategic growth plans in the region.

Kemira has also announced plans to invest in Nanjing site in Chinese Jiangsu province, aimed at boosting the production capacity of alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA) sizing agents, which are mainly used for improving water resistance in paper and board. This will further reinforce Kemira’s position as the leading producer and supplier of sizing agents in the APAC market. The project will take approximately two years to complete, following successful pre-engineering phase.
The paper and board industry in the APAC region has been witnessing robust growth over the past several years. The investment in the region’s facilities is expected to deliver significant output boost from Kemira’s business segments.
