Carter Lumber, Kent, OH., is Opening a New Full-Service Lumberyard in the Louisville, KY., Market

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Carter Lumber, Kent, Oh., is opening a new full-service lumberyard in the Louisville, Ky., market. This expansion marks a significant enhancement of our capabilities and service offerings to professional builders in the region.

In 2020, Carter Lumber began servicing professional builders and remodelers in Louisville through our downtown showroom location, focusing primarily on cabinetry and millwork. The success of this showroom and the growing demand from our customers have prompted us to expand our services to include a full-service lumberyard.

The new Louisville location will officially open on June 1, 2024. However, it has already commenced deliveries to our established customers in the area throughout May. This proactive approach ensures that our customers have an immediate alternative to suppliers in the area and continue to receive the high-quality products and services they have come to expect from Carter Lumber.

Nate Christie, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience assisting builders in Louisville, is managing this location. Nate’s extensive knowledge and dedication to customer service will ensure a smooth transition and an enhanced customer experience.

As we prepare for the official opening, we are excited about the opportunity to better serve the Louisville builder and remodeler community. Our team is committed to providing top-notch service and a wide range of high-quality building products to meet the need of builders and remodelers, of all sizes, throughout Louisville and the surrounding area. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of building professionals in this market and look forward to continuing our growth through this new location.

“Louisville was a natural fit for Carter Lumber. It’s a rapidly growing area and is near many of our current service areas,” said Shawn Trattles, market vice president of Carter Lumber. He continued, “It was not long after we opened our showroom here, and customers saw how we were able to perform, that the calls came for us to also supply lumber and building materials. We are grateful to fill that need in Louisville and continue to show customers why we’re the best supplier in the industry.”

Founded in 1932 in Akron, Oh., private and family-owned Carter Lumber is the United States’ fifth largest professionally focused lumber and building material supplier. The company services its primarily professional builder customers through its more than 170 locations across 13 states. Carter Lumber operates under four uniquely branded divisions: Carter Lumber, Holmes Lumber Company, Kight Home Center and Kempsville Building Materials.
