World Mints Working Round-the-Clock Minting Gold Coins; Sales Hit Highest This Month

WASHINGTON (Scrap Monster) : World leading mints across the globe are hastily minting gold coins day and night in order to satisfy the world gold coin demand. Lively demand of gold coins among investors is increasing day by day which necessitates speeding up the minting process by mints across the world. Gold coins sales has reached record high in all the top mints of the world.

The UK’s Royal Mint has reported that they have sold all their one pound equivalent gold sovereigns within a week. The onset of Chinese Lunar New Year has also triggered the demand of gold coins among investors. The coin demand in China is currently increasing sharply as they are buying gold largely for investment means rather than in the form of jewelry. Estimates show that the gold demand in China in the year 2013 climbed one-third as compared to 2012. As gold imports in India suffered great loss owing to the Govt. imposed restrictions and hiked premiums, China surpassed India, becoming the top gold consumer in the world.

Taking advantage of the falling gold price, popularity of gold coins as a means of investment is increasing among small investors. The US Mint as well as Australia’s Perth Mint foresees record sales of gold coins in the coming days, throughout the year. They are working overtime to satisfy the demands of their customers. The Austrian Mint has not only introduced a third shift to their working hours, but has also reported to have hired more employees at their mints. World mints are increasing the number of personnel at their mints these days to fulfill the demand.
