US Raw Steel output rebounds during February first week

The US weekly raw steel output increased modestly by 1.7% during the week ended February 6th, 2016.

US Raw Steel output rebounds during February first week

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): As per the statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the raw steel production by the country increased by 1.7% during the week ended February 6th, 2016. The production had declined marginally by 0.8% during the week prior to this.

The total domestic raw steel output during the week ending February 6th was 1,685,000 net tons. The AISI data indicates that the US raw steel production has gone higher by 1.7% during the week. This is in comparison with the previous week (ie., the week ended Jan 30th)  production figures of 1,657,000 net tons. However, the weekly output represents a decline of 1.2% in comparison with production of 1,705,000 net tons during same week the previous year.

The capability utilization rate of US steel makers climbed higher to 71.9% during the week ended Feb 6th, 2015.

The capacity utilization rate has increased when compared with 70.7% during the previous week (ie., the week ending January 30th). However, capacity utilization was considerably lower when compared with the rate of 72.4% during same week the previous year.
