PITTSBURGH (Scrap Monster): The Steel Recycling Institute (SRI) under the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) was awarded top accolades by the National Recycling Coalition. The awards were presented to Gregory L. Crawford and Brandie Sebastian at a ceremony during the Resource Recycling Conference held last week in New Orleans.
Gregory L. Crawford, Executive Director, was presented with a “Lifetime Achievement in Recycling Award,” in recognition of his decades of leadership in the field of recycling. Brandie Sebastian, Manager of Life Cycle Assessment, received the “Bill Heenan Emerging Leader Award,” for her leadership in sustainability initiatives.
“Brandie and Greg are dedicated and tireless advocates for sustainability and the environment, and have been driving forces in the steel industry’s leadership in this area,” said Thomas J. Gibson, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
“Greg and Brandie epitomize professionalism and set a standard for young professionals in the steel industry. They are much-deserving of this national recognition and we congratulate them”, he added.
SRI works directly with the public and private sectors to expand and grow steel recycling. As an active business unit of the North American steel body, SRI strives to build environmental preference for steel through credibly communicating steel's sustainable advancements.
