CANBERRA (Scrap Monster): According to latest data published by World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Oceania region was up 2.3% during the month of June ‘14 year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by Australia during June this year was 381,000 tonnes, higher by 2.8% than the June 2013 production of 371,000 tonnes. New Zealand produced 74,000 tonnes of crude steel, remaining flat when compared with the production achieved during June 2013.
The total crude steel production by Australia during May was 372,000 tonnes, lower by 8.5% than the May 2013 production of 406,000 tonnes. New Zealand produced 65,000 tonnes of crude steel, lower by 18.2% when compared to 79,000 tonnes production achieved during May 2013.
