Oceania crude steel output surged higher in July '14

Oceania crude steel output surged higher in July '14

CANBERRA (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Oceania region increased 7.0% during the month of July ‘14 year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by Australia during July was 436,000 tonnes, higher by 8.4% than the July 2013 production of 402,000 tonnes. New Zealand produced 77,000 tonnes of crude steel, marginally lower by 0.6% when compared to 78,000 tonnes production achieved during July 2013.

The total crude steel production by Australia during June this year was 381,000 tonnes, higher by 2.8% than the June 2013 production of 371,000 tonnes. New Zealand produced 74,000 tonnes of crude steel, remaining flat when compared with the production achieved during June 2013.

The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first seven months in 2014 in comparison with those during same period in 2013.
