PARIS (Scrap Monster): As per the latest statistics provided by the French Steel Federation (FFA), the country’s scrap prices rose slightly during the month of January this year. This is in comparison with the scrap prices during the month before. The average scrap prices during the month witnessed marginal rise of €8.70 per ton. The local scrap prices had increased slightly during December last year too.
The Jan ‘16 domestic scrap average prices in the country were down significantly by €72 per ton when matched with the previous year.
Shredded scrap prices remained flat at €149 per ton during the month when compared with Dec ‘15.
Also, prices of H2 scrap increased slightly by €8 per ton during the month to €152 per ton. Upon comparison with the prices during the same month a year before, the H2 scrap prices in Jan ’16 were considerably lower by €68 per ton.
Meantime, the price of H1 scrap witnessed marginal increase of €7 per ton from December last year levels to touch €159 per ton.
