Europe's crude steel output declined 4.9% in June this year

Europe's crude steel output declined 4.9% in June this year

CANTERBURY (Scrap Monster): According to the most recent data published by the World Steel Association (World steel), the crude steel production by EU-28 countries declined by 4.92% during the month of June over the previous month.

The highest output during June was achieved by Germany. Germany produced 3.577 Million tonnes during the month, which is considerably lower by 9.33% compared to the country’s output of 3.923 Million tonnes during the month of May this year.

The lowest output was by Croatia. The total crude steel output by Croatia climbed higher by 5.26%, higher from 19,000 tonnes in May to 20,000 tonnes in June this year. France, Hungary, Netherlands and the UK recorded increased month-on-month crude steel production. On the other hand, crude steel production by most countries including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden witnessed sharp downfall during the month.

The cumulative crude steel output during the initial six months in 2014 of various countries (in thousand tonnes) in the region are as follows:- Austria (3,957), Belgium (3,690), Bulgaria (314), Croatia (113), Czech Republic (2,727), Finland (1,967), France (8,305), Germany (22,480), Greece (515), Hungary (465), Italy (13,060), Luxembourg (1,147), Netherlands (3,458), Poland (4,189), Slovakia (2,325), Slovenia (323), Spain (7,476), Sweden ( 2,419), UK (6,143) and Other EU countries (2,281).
