BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) indicates that the country’s seamless steel pipe production touched its highest levels of 2014 during the month of June this year. However, the output fell marginally short of the record high achieved during the previous year.
As per NBS data, the country’s seamless steel pipe output totaled 2.846 million tons during June ’14. This is the highest level achieved so far this year. However, the June ’14 output was marginally down by 0.5% when compared with the record highs achieved during June last year. The Chinese seamless steel pipe production had totaled 2.853 million tons during June ’13.
The daily output of seamless steel pipe by Chinese steel mills rose 7% from the previous month to touch 94,880 tons.
The cumulative output during the initial six-month period of the year totaled 15.8 million tons, recording 4% year-on-year increase.
Also, Chinese welded pipe output during the first half of the year totaled 26.51 million tons. The welded pipe output by the country has increased by 6% over the year in comparison with the figures during the corresponding six-month period last year, NBS data says.
