NEW YORK (Scrap Monster): West Chester, Ohio based steel maker-A K Steel Holding Corporation has announced that the company will raise the prices of all stainless steel products by hiking the alloy surcharge.
According to company press release, the alloy surcharge of 304 stainless steel for May shipment will be hiked nearly 9% to $0.7855 per lb from $0.7192 per lb in April.
The company has also hiked the alloy surcharge for 201 stainless steel from $0.4921 per lb in April this year to $0.5285 per lb with effect from May shipments.
The alloy surcharge for 316 stainless steel will be $1.0854, nearly 11% higher when compared with the alloy surcharge of $0.9799 per lb during April shipments.
AK Steel has also hiked the alloy surcharge for 430 stainless steel from $0.2524 per lb in April this year to $0.2451 per lb from May shipment onwards.
A K Steel is one of the leading stainless steel players in the US that roll out several products including carbon, stainless and electrical steels, cold rolled and aluminium coated stainless steel for automakers.
