It all started in 1917 when Louis Zuckerman started a scrap business, which soon grew to include several of his children. In 1975, Charles Zuckerman split his business to form Charles Zuckerman & Son, Inc., a fabrication and distribution business. Steve Zuckerman served as Vice President under his father until Charles retired in 1989, Steve then leading the company in the top spot until he also retired in 2001, selling the business in 2002 to the Phelps brothers, long-time employees. Donald Phelps and son Josh are CEO and President respectively. The company now services 5 states and an ever-growing portfolio of customers and industries.
