We supply brass and bronze foundries, copper foundries, brass mills, copper mills, refineries, and other non-ferrous consumers with a wide range of metal products - not just ingot. Our traders have an extensive network throughout the metals industry.

We have experience providing all of these and more in many different forms. As metalcasters accustomed to producing alloys with rigid specifications, we understand the issues other metalcasters face when buying scrap. Our knowledge of chemistry, form, recovery, and value separate us from other scrap traders and brokers.
1913 - Joseph Nagusky vertically integrates, turning his new non-ferrous peddler business into an ingot making operation.
1930 - Mark Nagusky, age 20 and a recent graduate of Harvard College, starts an illustrious career at Federal Metal that would span more than 60 years.
1960 - The company moves to its present location in Oakwood Village, a suburb southeast of Cleveland.
1966 - A.R. Singh begins an impressive career at Federal Metal that would span 33 years.
1973 - David Nagusky, after 9 years as a successful stockbroker, starts his career at Federal Metal.
1981 - Rik Kohn begins his long career at the company, and very soon thereafter establishes a scrap trading and brokerage division at the company.
1993 - The company installs two state-of-the-art coreless induction furnaces.
1993 - A.R. Singh invents the Federalloy group of bismuth brass alloys. Patents are awarded and several licensees are established.
1995 - David Nagusky begins his term as President of the Non-Ferrous Founders' Society (NFFS).
1997 - Peter Nagusky, after graduating with a Masters degree in business, begins his career at the company.
1999 – Mike Fekete joins the company to improve our service to customers. He brings valuable experience in pricing, sales, shipping, and transportation.
2002 - The company introduces Fingot - Federal's foundry friendly ingot. The product becomes the industry standard - clean, 100% metallic, free of any oxides.
2006 - Mike Buyarski joins the company to penetrate the market for electric furnace alloys, develop conversion and tolling work, and provide technical service to customers.
2006 - Federal Metal has a record year and for the first time is named a Weatherhead 100 company, which recognizes the fastest growing businesses in Northeast Ohio.
2007 – Terri Kelsey joins the sales team, bringing with her a passion for customer service. Her skills, knowledge, and experience help the company continue to gain market share
2007 – Another member of the fourth generation, Karen Calo (daughter of David and sister to Peter), joins the company to implement new ERP software and streamline front office and accounting functions.
2007 - Chris Greenfield joins the company and is soon promoted to VP of Purchasing, with responsibility for buying most of the scrap metal required for production.
2008 - Federal Metal is named the #1 "Centurian" in the Weatherhead 100 rankings, awarded to the fastest growing company in Northeast Ohio with more than $100 million in sales.
2010 – After receiving objective evidence that a majority of employees covered by the collective bargaining agreement do not want to be represented by the United Steelworkers, the company withdraws recognition of the union.
2010 – Peter Nagusky is named President. David Nagusky assumes the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
2010 – For the first time in its history, the company schedules continuous operations, operating its rotary and induction furnaces 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
