About Us

The South Carolina Recycler’s Association is so much more than just the surface.  Going beyond the effort of curbing metal theft and its direct effects on the recycling industry, one of our main goals is to educate the legislators, law enforcement, and citizens of South Carolina the importance of recycling and what we can all gain from it. While metal theft is at the forefront of conversation regarding metal recycling, the goal of SCRA is to bring other important information to the recyclers of South Carolina.  That information is not just about thefts, but also about the communication of new laws and ordinances, networking with other metal recyclers as well as offering constant support.    By recycling, we continue to manufacture goods with less energy consumption, reduce the cost of disposals while extending the life of landfills, and create jobs for everyone as well as helping the development of more business. We hope that the citizens of South Carolina will recognize the importance of recycling and join us in our efforts and encourage their fellow recyclers to join as well.  While the economic climate of America is unstable today, we hope that you will agree that membership is a very small price to pay to defend the best interests of South Carolina and the recycling industry - both small and large.
