Headquartered in Dodge Center, Minnesota, McNeilus Steel is a family operated full line metals service center specializing in cut-to-length stretcher leveled flat roll carbon products. Founded in 1948 by Harry McNeilus, we have been the upper Midwest’s friendly steel handlers for more than 60 years.
Our metals distribution business is comprised of over 450 employees and three warehouses located in Dodge Center, Minnesota, Fargo, North Dakota, and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Each location sells and delivers hot roll and cold finish bar, tube, pipe, sheet, plate, flooring, grating, stainless, aluminum, rebar, and other miscellaneous ferrous and nonferrous metal products. We offer metal fabrication services to our customers, including shot blasting, laser and plasma cutting, bending, rolling, machining, rebar fabrication, sawing, and robotic beveling.
We obtained our ISO9001:2008 certification in 2011 reflecting our efforts to continuously review and improve our processes. This sustained focus and commitment continues to strengthen our position as an industry leader in quality, delivery, and service to our customers.
At McNeilus Steel providing quality to our customers is our top priority! As a testament to our commitment to quality and our customers we obtained ISO9001:2008 certification in 2011 and continue to embrace it as a guide to our quality culture and support it throughout our organization. This belief is shown by the way we measure and monitor our material through every process before sending it to our customers.
Our idea of complete customer satisfaction includes fast, reliable delivery. To ensure that we meet our commitment to next-day delivery we continuously invest in our fleet of 100+ semi-tractor trailers and straight-trucks, employ our drivers, and control the dispatch of each delivery truck.
The Red Bud stretcher leveling technology used at McNeilus Steel provides the flattest, most stress-free product available in the market today. It's a process that stretches the entire cross section of the strip (width & thickness) without the use of bending or compressive forces. This unique process creates a product in which all stresses are equalized, resulting in flat material that stays flat even after laser cutting, notching, punching, or subsequent shearing operations.
