The business was started in 1970 by Stuart Farrar. It was based in Padfield at the ‘old co-op’ and then around the 1980’s the business moved to Wrens Nest Mill, behind Glossop North End football ground.

Eventually the business was passed down to Stuarts son Mark, who relocated the yard to Mill Town in 1995. Then in 2003 we moved to Charlestown Works where we are now.

Sadly in 2007 Mark passed away and Marks Wife, Mandy, took on the huge responsibility of taking over the business and managed to keep the business thriving for another 13 years. Due to Mandys well deserved retirement the yard has now been passed down to Marks son Stephen, the third generation now to run the yard.

We hope the business is going for another 50 years and we are excited for what the future holds.
