About Us
A merchant in heart and soul, that was Frans Ruskus (sr.). Already at a young age, he traveled through all the streets that Breda was rich to go peddling. Nothing was too crazy for him like trading. Three quarters of the city knew him, so there was always someone who had trade for him.
The trade in metals and rags grew expeditiously due to the hard work of Frans Ruskus, now popularly known as 'The Bald Rus'. From pushcart it was changed to horse and carriage. And soon the site on Sluisstraat became too small. In 1969 the company moved to Kolfbaanstraat. A plot with no less than 6,000 square meters of land behind it. The business continued to grow and at the age of 61, Frans Ruskus thought it was time for his son, Frans Ruskus Jr., to take over the business.
