Plastic recycling is the process of recovering scrap or waste plastics and reprocessing the material into useful products, sometimes completely different in form from their original state. For instance, this could mean melting down soft drink bottles and then casting them as plastic chairs and tables.

Alpha Omega Plastics Buys & Sells Scrap Materials

Besides processing scrap plastic, Alpha Omega Plastics purchases all types of scrap plastic in any form.  We purchase LDPE, LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE, PP, P/S and other plastics in the form of bottles, sheet, pipe, skids, film, buckets, pales and other parts.  We also purchase regrind, obsolete resin and color concentrate.

Alpha Omega Plastics Toll Densifying Services

Alpha Omega Plastics operates four MGB Engineering (a sister company of Alpha Omega Plastics) densifiers from 250 to 300 horsepower.  These machines produce 1200 to 1500 pounds per hour of densified material.  Material is fed into the densifier from the top.  A rotating knife that is coupled directly to a motor shreds the scrap against 10 stationary knives inside the machine.  As the shredding progresses, the film begins to melt and begins to resemble dough.  Water is then added and steam is dissipated through a venting process.  What is left is material that resembles popped popcorn.  The material is ejected from the machine and the process begins again.

Alpha Omega Plastics Toll Pelletizing Services

If you have scrap plastic that you want pelletized, Alpha Omega Plastics can process it for you. We operate several plastics recycling lines, giving us the ability to process various types of plastic materials.  Scrap film, regrind or densified material is fed into an extruder.  As the extruder compresses and heats up the material, it's melted and then filtered. In the final stage a uniform plastic pellet is produced.  These pellets are then used back into the manufacturing process as recycled raw material, reducing unnecessary waste.
