The Vinyl Institute, the voice for the vinyl industry in the United States, has launched a fully redesigned and enhanced Recycling Directory to help businesses and consumers recycle excess or used vinyl materials.

(WASHINGTON, DC, March 18, 2026) The Vinyl Institute, the voice for the vinyl industry in the United States, has launched a fully redesigned and enhanced Recycling Directory to help businesses and consumers recycle excess or used vinyl materials. With the online tool, available at vinylinfo.org/recycling-directory, users can search for vinyl recycling collection points by location and product type, helping more vinyl stay out of landfills and be repurposed into new products. Businesses seeking to use recycled vinyl content can also use the directory to identify recyclers who can supply their material needs.
Because of its durability and versatility, PVC is used in a broad array of industries, from infrastructure to healthcare. This includes windows, siding, flooring, pipes, wire and cable insulation, environmental protection liners, automobile components, and much more. Many of these vinyl materials can be recycled or reused to manufacture new, durable products. A 2025 report of PVC recyclers in the U.S. and Canada showed that 1.127 billion pounds of PVC was recycled in 2024 — a number the Vinyl Institute hopes to continue to grow.
“Our revamped Recycling Directory makes it easier than ever to reduce vinyl waste,” said Ned Monroe, President & CEO for the Vinyl Institute. “This one-stop shop provides tools to simplify the recycling journey so that even more vinyl material can be diverted from landfills and become valuable in new ways.”
Features of the redesigned Vinyl Institute Recycling Directory include:
· Vinyl recycling/drop-off directory searchable by ZIP code and material type, with an enhanced structure that allows visitors to distinguish locations as collection points for the general public and for direct sourcing for manufacturers. User-friendly navigation helps both the public and manufacturers easily locate
appropriate facilities, ensuring accessibility and efficiency. (Facilities may be limited or not exist in some areas.)
Along with the Recycling Directory, the Vinyl Institute is helping to further increase efforts through its VIABILITY™ recycling grant funding program, which invests in companies seeking to increase post-consumer PVC recycling.
