TerraCycle Launches Referral Model to Grow Access to Hard-to-Recycle Recycling

TRENTON, N.J., February 17, 2025: TerraCycle®, the company known for recycling the unrecyclable–items that curbside recyclers typically won’t accept, has launched the Zero Waste Box™ Referral Program, making it easy—and rewarding—for customers to help friends and family #RecycleEverything.

Through the new program, customers who have completed at least one Zero Waste Box purchase earn $10 in store credit each time a referral completes their first purchase. The referred friend also receives 15% off their first purchase, creating a win-win, sustainable opportunity to keep hard-to-recycle trash out of landfills and incinerators.

Participation is simple:

• Sign in to your TerraCycle account to access your unique referral link after completing your first Zero Waste Box purchase
• Share the link with friends, family, or followers via social media, email, or text
• Receive $10 in store credit each time a referred friend makes their first purchase

Customers who have not yet made a purchase will be prompted to complete their first order before they can access a referral link.

There’s no limit to how much participants can earn, and referral links can be shared anywhere.

Since its introduction, the Zero Waste Box solution has provided recycling options for thousands of hard-to-recycle materials not typically accepted through curbside recycling services, including flexible plastics, personal care products, cosmetics, takeout containers, coffee capsules, pet food packaging, and more. Once received, the collected materials are recycled into pellets that are used to make new products, helping to keep waste out of landfills and incinerators.
