25th January, 2022: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices remained mostly unchanged on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on January 25^th, Tuesday. Stainless Steel scrap prices witnessed no change on Index. Copper and Aluminum scrap prices surged, whereas Brass/Bronze scrap prices remained flat. Meantime, Steel scrap prices too were unchanged on Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by $0.05 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.05 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.05 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.01 per Lb when matched with the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.05 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiators witnessed upmove by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

Meantime, Harness Wire 35% Recovery edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged. Cu Yokes prices too were flat from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on January 25^th, 2022.

Heater Cores and Romex Wires prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units and Xmas Lights reported no change from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.02 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too increased by $0.02 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe inched higher by $0.02 per Lb each over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were up by $0.02 per Lb each. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices too inched higher by $0.01 per Lb on January 25^th, 2022.

Chrome Wheels were up by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips soared by $0.02 per Lb each from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast, UBC and Zorba 90% NF were up by $0.02 per Lb each over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding prices too were up by $0.02 per Lb each, compared to the prior day. 

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too witnessed no change on 25^th January, 2022.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady on Index.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices on January 25^th, 2022.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region increased marginally on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices were unchanged on Tuesday, January 25^th, 2022.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices were flat over the day.
