21st May, 2024: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper and aluminum scrap prices surged higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on May 21^st, 2024, Tuesday. Stainless Steel scrap prices too were up on Index. Brass, Bronze and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap was flat on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose marginally by $0.02 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.02 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery remained flat over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too were unchanged on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

Copper Radiator prices witnessed no change over the day.

Copper Transformer Scrap prices held steady over the day. Cu Yokes prices recorded no change. Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too were flat from tthe previous day.

The prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe recorded no change on May 21^st, 2024.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were flat.

Heater cores prices were unchanged on Index.

Romex Wire prices witnessed no change over the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Xmas Lights, Sealed units and Starters were unchanged from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.02 on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too inched higher by $0.02 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions increased by $0.03 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions surged higher by $0.03 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively  when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were unchanged. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.01 per Lb each on May 21st, 2024.

Chrome Wheels recorded marginal rise by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices soard by $0.04 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips were up by $0.02 per Lb each from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices saw a surge by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC increased by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too were up by $0.02 per Lb each.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 21^st May, 2024.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS scrap prices were flat on Index.

301 SS prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

304 SS Solid prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

304 SS Turning prices increased by $0.01 per Lb on May 21^st, 2024.

309 SS and 310 SS prices recorded surge by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively on a daily basis.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

330 SS prices soared by $0.03 per Lb from the prior day.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region held steady on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat on May 21^st, 2024.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were unchanged.

Red Brass, Yellow Brass and Rod Borings prices too witnessed no change over the prior day.
