18th April, 2018: North American Scrap Metal Prices Rose Sharply on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on April 18^th, Wednesday. Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap was up marginally by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.06 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.06 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.06 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery have increased by $0.03 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.2 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.06 per Lb to touch $2.74 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap saw slight increase by $0.02 per Lb. Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu Yokes prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe were up by $0.02 per Lb on April 18^th, 2018.

Heater Cores and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were up slightly by $0.02 per Lb.

Romex Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units and Xmas Lights edged higher marginally by $0.01 per Lb each.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices moved higher by $0.05 per Lb. The prices of 3003 Scrap too increased by $0.05 per Lb. An up move of $0.05 per Lb was witnessed in 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean). Meantime, 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions prices saw increase of $0.05 per Lb each over the day. 6063 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices too were up by $0.05 per Lb each.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe have increased by $0.02 per Lb each over the previous day. The prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.02 per Lb each from the previous day. Aluminum Transformer prices rose marginally by $0.01 per Lb on 18^th April, 2018.

Chrome Wheels witnessed rise of $0.05 per Lb. Mixed Aluminum Turnings recorded marginal rise by $0.02 per Lb.

E.C Aluminum Wire and MLC Clips were up by $0.06 per Lb  and $0.05 per Lb respectively.

The prices of Old Cast, Litho Sheets, Old Sheet and Painted Sliding increased by $0.05 per Lb each.

UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices too were up by $0.04 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat at $380 per MT.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 18^th April, 2018.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady at $310 per MT.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS  and 301 SS prices recorded marginal increase by $0.02 per Lb each.

304 SS Solid prices edged higher by $0.03 per Lb to touch $0.52 per Lb as on April 18^th.

304 SS Turning prices were up by $0.02 per Lb.

The price of 309 SS, 310 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap inched higher by $0.03 per Lb each over the day.

330 SS prices settled at $1.13 per Lb, increasing by $0.05 per Lb.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on April 18^th, 2018.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices increased by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.
