ASTM A786 Steel Floor Plate

ASTM A786 (Standard Specification for Hot-Rolled Carbon, Low-Alloy, High-Strength Low-Alloy, and Alloy Steel Floor Plates) Steel Floor Plate, also known as Steel Diamond Plate or Steel Tread Plate has a raised diamond lug pattern that provides excellent skid resistance for a wide range of applications commonly used in stairs, walkways, ramps and entrances where ‘rough’ or ‘high-wear’ surfaces are preferred. The raised figure is produced by the final pass of a steel plate at hot rolling temperatures between one or more rolls – one roll having a pattern cut into it so that part of the metal on one surface of the plate is forced into the depressions on the pattern roll.

COMMERCIAL QUALITY STEEL FLOOR PLATE Characteristics and Applications

Commercial Quality (CQ) steel floor plates have a surface quality suitable for painting applications and moderate fabrication.  It is less ductile than either Drawing Quality or Drawing Quality Special Killed sheet.Commercial Quality steel floor plate is used to manufacture shelving, tool boxes, vending machines, elevator panels, and electronic cabinets which require some fabrication and can be finished.

A786 FLOOR PLATE Characteristics and Applications

A786 floor plate is a low carbon commercial quality grade plate. It is textured blue-grey finish. Raised diamond pattern provides all around traction. It is available as 4-Way patterned plates, which provide maximum skid resistance with an easy to clean surface.A786 4-Way floor plates are used for Safety,flooring on docks, ramps, mezzanines, stair treads catwalks, Trench covers, Walkways, ornamental projects  and other surfaces that require skid resistance with an easy to clean surface. It is a general purpose material ideal for most processing techniques.
