Company history

The company founders, Ludger Uchtmann and Johannes Prues, dared to take the step into self-employment on October 15th, 1993. Before that they had bought a caterpillar for 600.00 DM, which was ready for use after 2 years of repairs. The company name UPEK is made up of the initials:

U chtmann, P rues E rdarbeiten, K ulturbau

The vehicle fleet was soon expanded to include a large number of vehicles, such as crawler excavators, wheel loaders, semi-trailers, ... After Mr. Ludger Uchtmann left the company in 1998, the sole proprietorship UPEK is managed by Mr. Johannes Prues.

UPEK GmbH was founded on December 15th, 1999 , represented by the managing director, Mr. Johannes Prues.
The purpose of the company is building rubble recycling, demolition and earthworks, containers and heavy goods transport. At that time the office was on the street “Im Weidengrund” in Steinfeld. The sand pit in Holthausen (Steinfeld) was added in 2000 and the sand pit in Schemde (Steinfeld) in 2003.
In 2006, the company moved to the current office on “Am Tiefen Weg 30” in Steinfeld. The company currently has 22 employees. Our modern, as good as new vehicle fleet has a high technical standard that meets the requirements of our customers at all times. Upek GmbH's new premises (2012) are located at Hohenwinkel 2 in Steinfeld. A modern crushing area will be built there on approx. 40,000 m². The approx. 1000 m² vehicle hall is already finished. The machine workshop hall with office and truck scales are under construction.

On September 2nd, 2018, the company's 25th anniversary was celebrated with an open day.
