A new use cycle for wood. HolzREC is the professional partner for wood recycling, waste wood disposal as well as treatment and processing of waste wood and residual wood.

Old wood, which for others is only "waste", is a valuable substitute raw material for us, which helps to conserve natural resources such as fresh wood from the forest. We are the largest wood recycling and wood processing company in Eastern Austriaand the contact for waste companies and traders, municipalities and cities, waste disposal yards and waste associations, agriculture, industries and private households. We collect the wood from where it occurs and process it so that it can be reused in the best possible way. It is sorted and processed according to its nature and according to the strictest guidelines. It is then fed into a new cycle of use. Depending on the quality, on the one hand this can be waste wood, e.g. for the chipboard industry, on the other hand residual wood for energy generation in certified thermal recycling.

We pay great attention to protecting our environment. That is why all of our processes and workflows are carried out at the highest technical level and in compliance with strict guidelines. We also work closely with partner companies to guarantee environmentally friendly processing of all stages of waste wood recycling.

HISTORY OF the wood recycling professional

HolzREC was founded in July 2002 .With only two employees at the time, recycling wood was delivered from surrounding companies and shredded on a rented area of ​​the Egger company in Unterradlberg. About two years later, in autumn 2004, the starting shot came for the construction of an office building including the associated storage area at the current location in Herzogenburg. With their own vehicles and with hauliers who are still close partners today, the recycled wood and other assortments were transported to the new location and processed there. The first wheel loader from HolzREC was purchased. In 2007 HolzREC was awarded the contract for the disposal of the city of Vienna in relation to recycled wood. Due to this, the vehicle fleet was increased with another four trucks and the storage area was expanded. In 2013 the starting shot was given for the most significant expansion of the HolzREC storage area to date. The storage area was expanded to approx. 4 hectares including a service hall, company filling station and warehouse enlargement. The project was completed in 2015. The complete conversion of the vehicle fleet to the Euro VI emissions standard (most modern class) was also completed in 2015. In 2019, the processes in logistics were modernized under the aspect of digitization and the "ErdMobile" software was introduced, which ensures fast, paperless processing. HolzREC is a subsidiary of Pölzleitner Holz ( wood recycling and recovery in Abtenau) and Brantner Disposal . We also work with the partner companies Team Asche and Drevo-Rec to ensure optimal processing.
