HDPE Team Leader - 2nd Shift in Plastipak

Position Summary:

Is responsible for related staff in the hands-on operation of automated blow molding equipment. Provides leadership to department associates in the performance of their duties. Ensures safety, quality, cost and reliability goals are met. May perform or assist in performing mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting. Makes or assists in making adjustments and repairs on machinery as required in the designated work area. Monitors processes and directs adjustments to be made as necessary. Has a working knowledge of various product orders by following all material requirements and customer requests. Ensures all quality checks are performed, and helps maintain customer requirements, according to specifications. Ensures correct housekeeping procedures on machinery and in designated work area are maintained. 

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for meeting Safety, Quality, Reliability and Scrap measures.
  • Communication and development of team members technical skills.

  • Facilitates scheduled work orders.

  • Ensures that all materials to fulfill the work orders are present.

  • Coordinates Team Meetings.

  • Monitors all Quality Documentation ensuring all is in compliance.

  • Converses with line maintenance technician to prioritize work to be completed on the line.

  • Works with new team members to train on line and on auxiliary equipment.

  • Assist line maintenance with PMs.

  • Responsible for ensuring entering production data.

  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of motivation.

  • Ensures GMP and safety policies are followed.

  • Responsible for maintaining ISO standards.

  • Responsible for reviews and action plans for associates.

  • Helps complete and implement corrective actions.

  • Coordinate cost savings projects.

  • Maintain and improve business processes.

  • Initiate action(s) for food safety issues and report the issue(s) and action(s) taken to a member of the Food Safety Team.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Team oriented.
  • Self - Motivation and flexibility of job assignments.

  • Blend of technical, interpersonal skills, and continuous learning through training.

  • Must possess strong leadership skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Computer literate.

  • Work overtime as necessary, based on production needs/demands.

  • High School Diploma required, Associates degree in Plastics Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical or a similar technical area preferred or previous experience accepted.

Essential Functions:

  • Regularly stand / walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to bend, reach and move around facility.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Able to work on aerial platforms up to 20 ft.

Experience Previous experience in similar field accepted.
