This professional position is responsible for all aspects related to the management of the County wide commercial/non-residential recycling programs. Among his/her usual duties this person will provide outreach and monitoring of all commercial and multi-family recycling programs within Frederick County. Supervision is received from the Recycling Program Manager of the Department of Solid Waste Management.

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Environmental Management or related field
Minimum 2 years of program management experience in solid waste management or an Environmental Science field such as sustainability, water quality, etc -an additional 2 years of related work experience may reduce the education requirement to a related Associate’s degree
Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN FOR:

Current Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) certification in Managing Municipal Solid Waste Recycling Systems
Experience managing municipal solid waste programs with an emphasis on managing recycling programs
Possession of a valid automobile operator’s license
