Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years accounting and/or finance experience.

 

Summary Description Is Responsible for various aspects of accounting controllership function. To include preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory control and account analysis of the general ledger. Prepare financial reports and analytical reports. Core Competencies Superior PC skills (in depth knowledge of Excel). Workable knowledge of other office suite products. Knowledge of automated large scale general ledger systems. Ability to develop graphs/charts, working knowledge of corporate financial systems. Sound oral and written communication skills. Ability to operate independently and "self manage" projects, true multitasking. Highly organized and process oriented. Strong analytical and reasoning abilities. Ability to identify, research, and create Excel models to solve problems. Strong General Ledger knowledge, knowledge of system oriented monthly closing processes and account reconciliation. Ability to manage the month end closing process for multiple locations. Responsibilities • Reconcile balance sheet accounts • Insure identified SOX compliant issues are completed. • Monthly forecasting, review, reporting and analysis of feeder yard production and spending. • Interface with the respective feeder yard managers on all day to day aspects of financial and management reporting, inventory control and movement along with expense analysis. • Work with financial systems to retrieve data to produce month-end management reports and analysis. • Development of equipment, capital improvements, acquisitions, and operating expense allocations reports and analysis to justify purchasing/spending on above items. • Provide monthly submissions to Controller and Senior Accounting Management. • Provide management with financial analyses and statistical reporting, and develop recommendations affecting business procedures and operations. • Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
