Les' Sanitary is a solid waste company which provides collection, transfer and recycling services in Coos County. We trust the information we present on this website will answer any questions you have about your service. If not, we want to hear from you. Residential Recycling

One - 15 gallon recycling bin is provided with garbage service in the city limit. It is picked up weekly on the same day as your garbage. For additional information about Recycling and Waste Reduction please contact our office at 541-267-2848 or 541-756-5211.

Acceptable Items to place in your recycle cart:

  • Plastics in the shape of a jug, tub, or bottle. NO LIDS.
  • Paper: computer paper, newspapers, mail, magazines and paper bags.
  • Cardboard: flattened boxes
  • Metal: food and beverage containers, no unattached lids and, aluminum foil in a ball no smaller than a fist.
  • Glass: all colors – glass bottles and jars. NO LIDS.

Unacceptable Items to place in your recycle cart:

  • Food scraps, food-soiled paper or boxes
  • Plastic bags
  • Plastic take-out containers
  • Plastic trays (bakery, meat, etc.)
  • Plastic cups, plates or utensils
  • Styrofoam containers or pellets
  • Prescription vials
  • Paper towels, plates or napkins
  • Disposable diapers or rags
  • Ceramics or dishes
  • Light bulbs
  • Mirrors or window glass
  • Lids or caps
  • greasy or sharp scrap metal
  • Needles or syringes
  • Toxic containers (antifreeze, oil, syringes, etc.)

Remember: All recycle should be clean and free of food scraps. There is no charge for collection of extra recyclables that don't fit in your bin. Put them in recycling bins, cardboard boxes (limit 2'X2'X2') or paper bags marked "Recycle."

Residential Garbage Collection

Placement of all carts at the curb is essential to insure collection by automated trucks. Place your trash cart on either side of your driveway, at the edge of the curb. Allow a minimum of three feet of clearance on all sides of the cart from objects such as trees, fences, mailboxes, streetlights and other carts. Carts must be a minimum of six feet from any vehicles. Position your carts in a manner so that pedestrians can use the sidewalk.

Do not put these items in your garbage:

  • Computers and TVs
  • Motor Oil
  • Hazardous Waste
  • Needles or syringes
  • Yard Waste
  • Loose or hot ashes
  • Dead animals
  • Loose cat litter or animal waste (please double bag)
  • Unbagged packing pellets or sawdust
  • Concrete, rocks, or dirt

Les' Sanitary offers several services to meet the needs of industrial garbage collection:

  • Scheduled and on-call roll-off container service
  • Storage Containers - temporary or permanent rentals
  • Portable toilets - temporary or event services
  • Special waste handling services

Acceptable Items to place in your Yard Waste:

  • Plant material
  • Grass
  • Leaves
  • Weeds
  • Plant and tree trimmings
  • Houseplants (no pots)
  • Small amounts of sod (less than 60 pounds)
  • Branches and twigs (up to 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet long)
  • Small trees free of tinsel, ornaments, and flocking;
  • sections less than 4 feet long; base less than 4 inches diameter.

Unacceptable Items to place in your Yard Waste:

  • Plastic or synthetic bags
  • Animal waste or litter
  • Dead animals
  • Rocks/gravel
  • Cement/concrete
  • Loose soil
  • Lumber/wood
  • Fencing material
  • Metal
  • Household trash/litter
  • Hoses, garden tools
  • Bricks and tile
  • Construction debris
  • Nursery pots
  • Tinsel, ornaments, flocking
  • Hazardous waste

Home Composting

Composting is the art of turning organic waste into a rich soil amendment called humus. Backyard composting is easy to learn and is full of benefits for you and the environment. Organic wastes that can be composted include fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds, grass clippings and leaves. Some things you should not include in your backyard compost include meat or dairy products and weed seeds.

Special Pick-Ups

For those occasional times when you have bulky items, call us and we can schedule a one-time pick-up. Trip charge and fees apply.If you have an extra bag or bags, your collector can pick those up on your route day. He will note the extra bags and we will bill you at the end of the month. If it is one bag and you can easily place it on top of the garbage in the cart with the lid open that saves an extra step for the driver.
