Refrigerators are recyclable items and contain many types of materials.  Most scrap yards will purchase old refrigerators, household units, commercial units, big or small.  These units are not very valuable and are scrapped for their steel value.  You can increase your selling power by removing the copper tubing, copper wires, and the compressor (sealed unit), and selling each material separately.
