Brass and Bronze Scrap Prices Edge Higher
Brass and bronze scrap prices posted modest gains across several categories. 70/30, 80/20 and 85/15 Brass Scrap, Brass Radiator, Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass each increased by $0.01 per pound, while Brass Radiator/Fe and Brass Radiator Ends remained unchanged.
Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel Remain Stable
Aluminum scrap prices showed no daily movement across all listed grades, including 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast and UBC. Steel benchmarks, including #1 HMS and #1 Busheling, and all listed stainless steel grades also held steady.

MONTREAL (Scrap Monster): North American scrap buying benchmarks opened the week with another copper-led advance on Monday, October 26, according to the ScrapMonster Price Index.

#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire & Tubing, #2 Copper Wire & Tubing and #3 Copper-Light Copper each increased ↑5¢/lb.

Several brass and bronze grades added ↑1¢/lb, while aluminum, steel and stainless steel recorded no day-over-day movement.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Bare Bright and #3 Copper-Light Copper each increased $0.05 per lb.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery each gained $0.01 per lb. Copper Radiator, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, and Romex Wire also rose $0.01 per lb.

Alternator scrap was unchanged.

Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Cu/Al Radiators, and Heater Cores remained flat.

Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed Units and Xmas Lights also recorded no change from the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

Aluminum showed no day-over-day movement across the listed categories.

1100 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, 6063 Extrusions, 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions all remained → Flat.

Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery were unchanged.

E.C. Aluminum Wire, Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, MLC Clips, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast, UBC, Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF also held their previous benchmarks.

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

#1 Bundle: No change.
#1 Busheling: Flat.
#1 HMS: Held steady.
HMS 80/20: Stable.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap, and Structural Steel also recorded no change from the previous day's levels.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

Stainless steel also remained completely stable.

201 SS, 301 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, 309 SS, 310 SS, 330 SS and 316 SS Solid all recorded → Flat daily readings.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

Brass and bronze scrap prices posted modest gains across several major categories.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator each increased $0.01 per lb.

Red Brass, Red Borings, and Yellow Brass also gained $0.01 per lb.

Brass Radiator/Fe and Brass Radiator Ends were unchanged from the previous day.
