North American Scrap Metal Prices Reflect Divergent Trends on the Index- June 15, 2026

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat over the previous day.

Summary

Copper scrap prices advanced, with #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #3 Copper-Light Copper each gaining $0.04 per lb.
Aluminum scrap prices weakened broadly, led by a $0.07 per lb decline in E.C. Aluminum and $0.04 per lb drops across several major grades.
Steel, stainless steel, and brass/bronze scrap markets remained stable, with no price changes reported across key categories.

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices saw a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Monday, June 15, 2026. Aluminum scrap prices edged lower, while Copper scrap prices increased on the Index. Steel, Stainless Steel, and Brass/Bronze scrap reported no variation in prices over the previous day.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing edged higher by $0.04 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.04 per Lb when compared with the prior day’s prices. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright also reported a jump of $0.04 per Lb on the Index.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery remained flat over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were unchanged. #3 Copper-Light copper prices witnessed a jump of $0.04 per Lb from previous day’s level.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed no change from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices also reported no change from the previous day.

Also, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady as of Monday, June 15, 2026.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were flat on the Index.

The price of Romex Wire witnessed no change during the day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights saw no change from previous day’s price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices were down by $0.04 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also went lower by $0.04 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also dropped by $0.04 pwe Lb.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions decreased by $0.04 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were down by $0.04 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained flat. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices were down by $0.01 per Lb each. Aluminum Transformers prices also saw a decline of $0.01 per Lb as of June 15, 2026.

Breakage 50% Recovery prices declined by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.

Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, Old Cast, Old Sheet, Painted Siding, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices were down by $0.04 per Lb over the previous day.

E.C. Aluminum prices saw a sharp dip of $0.07 per Lb from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices also declined by $0.01 per Lb.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS also witnessed no change as of June 15, 2026.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady on the Index.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap, and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices also remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices as of Monday, June 15, 2026.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price daily.

330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.

In the meantime, 316 SS Solid prices also remained unchanged on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region remained totally flat on the Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices reported no change in prices as of Monday, June 15, 2026.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.

Red Brass, Red Borings, and Yellow Brass prices also remained flat on the Index.
