North American Scrap Metals Show Mixed Price Trends on the Index- February 26, 2026
Cu Yokes prices were flat over the previous day’s prices.
TORONTO (Scrap Monster): As of Thursday, February 26, 2026, North American scrap metal prices witnessed mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminium and Copper scrap prices reported increase on the Index, while Stainless Steel scrap prices edged lower. The prices of the rest of the scrap categories held steady.
- Copper: Modest rise
- Aluminum: Edged higher
- Brass/Bronze: Held steady
- Stainless Steel: Recorded decline
- Steel: Flat trend
Copper Scrap Prices
The price of Alternator scrap recorded no variation over the previous day.
The prices of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Bare Bright, and #3 Copper- Light Copper were up by $0.05 per Lb on the Index.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery were unchanged on the Index.
Copper Radiator scrap prices recorded a jump of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day’s price.
Copper Transformer scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Cu Yokes prices were flat over the previous day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe prices were unchanged as of February 26, 2026.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices reported no fluctuation on the Index.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights were unmoved from the previous day’s price levels.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap prices were up by $0.02 per Lb over the day.
The prices of 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also increased by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
The price of 6063 Extrusions was up by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.
Also, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions recorded a jump of $0.02 per Lb when compared with the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe reported no change over the day.
Aluminum Radiators prices were up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady.
Breakage 50% Recovery prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb.
Chrome Wheels prices saw a jump of $0.02 per Lb each as of February 26, 2026.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices saw an increase of $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips recorded a surge of $0.02 per Lb each when compared with the previous day’s price levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices inched up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC witnessed an upward movement of $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
Steel Scrap Prices
- #1 Bundle: No change
- #1 Busheling: Flat trend
- #1 HMS: Held steady
- HMS 80/20: Stable pricing
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap, and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices as of February 26, 2026.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
301 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning and 309 SS witnessed a dip of $0.01 per Lb in prices as of February 26, 2026.
310 SS prices recorded a decline of $0.02 per Lb from the previous day’s level.
330 SS prices fell by $0.03 per Lb on the Index.
Also, 316 SS Solid prices reported a decline of $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region remained flat on the Index.
- 70/30 Brass Scrap: No change
- 80/20 Brass Scrap: Held steady
- 85/15 Brass Scrap: Unchanged on a daily basis
- Brass Radiator: Flat trend
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends maintained the previous day's price levels as of February 26, 2026.
Also, Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices were unchanged on the Index.
