North American Scrap Metal Prices See Divergent Movements on the Index- April 29, 2026

309 SS and 310 SS prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively from the previous day’s level.

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices recorded mixed trends on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Copper and aluminum scrap prices recorded slight decline. Stainless steel prices edged higher. In the meantime, brass/bronze and steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper: Marginal decline
Aluminum: Saw dip in prices
Brass/Bronze: Held steady
Stainless Steel: Reported jump in prices
Steel: Flat trend

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing decreased by $0.01 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.01 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged lower by $ 0.01 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery were unchanged on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices recorded a dip of $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap recorded a decline of $0.04 per Lb on the Index.

Copper Transformer Scrap prices were flat over the prior day.

Cu Yokes prices also witnessed no change on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe prices remained stable as of April 29, 2026.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Romex Wire and Heater Cores prices held steady over the day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights reported no variation from the previous day’s price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices were down by $0.02 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also went lower by $0.02 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also decreased by $0.02 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions dropped by $0.02 per Lb over the day.

Also, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions saw a dip of $0.02 per Lb each when compared with the prior day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained unchanged over the day. Aluminum Radiators prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb. Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices remained unchanged as of April 29, 2026.

Breakage 50% Recovery prices recorded a decline of $0.01 per Lb.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices declined by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.

Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips saw a dip of $0.02 per Lb from the previous day’s price levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices also dropped by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC witnessed declines by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also were down by $0.02 per Lb.

301 SS prices were up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices also increased by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed a jump of $0.01 per Lb in prices as of April 29, 2026.

309 SS and 310 SS prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively from the previous day’s level.

330 SS prices were up by $0.03 per Lb.

Also, 316 SS Solid prices increased by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region witnessed no variation on the Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap, and Brass Radiator scrap prices were unchanged as of Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices held steady from the previous day's price levels.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices recorded no variation on the Index.
