October 21, 2025-North American Scrap Metal Prices Showed Mixed Trend on the Index
301 SS and 304 SS Solid prices were unchanged over the previous day.
TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Aluminum scrap prices were mostly up on the Index, whereas Copper scrap prices registered a marginal decline. Also, Brass/Bronze scrap prices edged lower on the Index. Steel and Stainless Steel scrap prices witnessed no change when compared with the prior day’s prices.
Copper Scrap Prices
The price of Alternator scrap witnessed no change over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing dipped by $0.08 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.08 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged lower by $0.08 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices witnessed a decline of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also dropped by $0.01 per Lb on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices recorded a fall of $0.08 per Lb.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap edged lower by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
Copper Transformer prices were flat over the previous day.
Cu Yokes prices were down by $0.01 per Lb.
Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices were unchanged on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe prices witnessed no change as of October 21, 2025.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Romex Wire prices went lower by $0.01 per Lb each over the day.
Also, Heater Cores and Scrap Electric Motors prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The prices of Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights held steady from the previous day’s price levels.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap were up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also increased by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day.
Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions recorded a jump of $0.01 per Lb when compared with the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained unchanged over the day. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged as of October 21, 2025.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips were up by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day’s price levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices remained unchanged.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC witnessed an increase of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also inched up by $0.01 per Lb.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 Bundle prices remained flat.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change as of October 21, 2025.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady on the Index.
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap, and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices reported no change.
301 SS and 304 SS Solid prices were unchanged over the previous day.
304 SS Turning prices were flat as of October 21, 2025.
309 SS and 310 SS prices witnessed no variation from the previous day’s level.
330 SS prices were unchanged on the Index.
Also, 316 SS Solid prices recorded no variation on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region witnessed decline on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by $0.02 per Lb as of Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were flat from the previous day's price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices edged lower by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
