Chinese Aluminum Scrap Gains While Copper Scrap Prices Fall on the Index– July 7, 2026

Stainless Steel, Brass/Bronze, and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Summary

Copper Weakens: Major copper scrap grades, including #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire & Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire & Tubing, fell by CNY 100 per MT, while most other copper scrap grades remained stable.
Aluminum Gains: Key aluminum scrap grades, such as 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Ingots, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet, increased by CNY 50 per MT. Other aluminum grades were unchanged.
Other Metals Stable: Steel, stainless steel, and brass/bronze scrap prices recorded no changes, indicating a largely stable market outside the copper and aluminum segments.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices increased on ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Copper scrap prices were down from the previous day, while aluminum scrap prices edged higher. Stainless Steel, Brass/Bronze, and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 100 per MT.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing price saw a dip of CNY 100 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 100 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices held steady over the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery also were flat when compared with the day before.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices witnessed no change on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiators saw no change over the previous day.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater Cores prices were unchanged over the previous day on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units reported no variation on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions recorded a jump of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices also were up by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers held steady on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices witnessed an increase of CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also recorded a rise of CNY 50 per MT each on July 7, 2026.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were flat from the previous day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady on July 7, 2026.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices recorded no change on the Index.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were flat on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices were unchanged when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices recorded no variation as of July 7, 2026.

Shred SS prices held steady over the previous day.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no variation from the previous day.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

On the Index, the price of Yellow Brass and Red Brass held steady.
