Chinese Copper Scrap Slips, Aluminum and Stainless Steel Move Higher on the Index– October 21, 2026

Copper scrap prices moved lower following the previous session's broad advance.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices posted a mixed performance on the ScrapMonster Price Index on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, as copper moved lower while stainless steel and aluminum advanced. Steel and brass/bronze prices were unchanged.

Copper Scrap Prices

Copper scrap prices moved lower following the previous session's broad advance.

#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each ▼ fell CNY 150/MT from the previous day.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire with 85% Recovery ▼ declined CNY 50/MT.

Heater Cores, #2 Insulated Copper Wire with 50% Recovery, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Scrap, Harness Wire with 35% Recovery, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units were all → unchanged.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

Aluminum scrap also moved broadly higher, although the increases were smaller than those recorded in clean copper.

6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots each gained CNY 50/MT.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers held steady on the Index.

E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast and Old Sheet advanced CNY 50/MT, while UBC and Zorba 90% NF recorded no change.

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel scrap remained fully unchanged on the Index.

#1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap both maintained their previous-day levels on the Index.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

Stainless steel scrap recorded broad gains on October 21, 2026.

201 SS ▲ gained CNY 100/MT

304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning and Shred SS each ▲ gained CNY 200/MT.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid each ▲ rose CNY 300/MT.

310 SS recorded the strongest stainless move, ▲ increasing CNY 350/MT.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

Brass and bronze scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

Brass Radiator reported no variation in prices over the day.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass also held steady on the Index.
